FILMS
A selection of short films I have shot that are centered around performance and experimentation.
WHEN SATELLITES MURMUR
‘When Satellites Murmur’ is an ode to murmuration - the result of sonic experimentation between satellites, starlings, theremins, and (least importantly) humans. Murmuration as the sound made by thousands of starlings flapping their wings in unison, but more widely defined as the utterance of a low and continuous sound. Murmuration represents the ephemeral and at times incomprehensible channels of nonhuman vocalization. The work translates and modulates real-time and prerecorded signals between satellites and theremins, positioning their antennas not as passive receivers but as active listeners and instruments.

A CACOPHONY OF LATE STAGE LIAR BIRDS
An experimental film about real and surreal cacophony of life under late stage capitalism, explored through the NYC subway, ASMR, and the ubiquity of communication technology. Merging spoken word with archival footage and electronic composition.

THE DANCE OF THE LYREBIRD
David Attenborough meets Black Swan and two worlds collide. Experimenting with the song of a Lyre Bird played over improvised dancing. Lyre Birds are known for their ability to mimic sounds, not just of other birds but even of constructed environments such as chainsaws and camera shutters.
LYNKS ‘STR8 ACTING’ LIVESTREAM
Footage of artist ‘Lynks’ performing ‘Str8 Acting’ at the Roundhouse Rising Festival 2021. Filmed and vision mixed by myself and my cohort at the Roundhouse Filmmaking and Livestreaming Course. I directed the vision mix on this set.

‘WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT?’
Short Film depicting bodily reactions to feelings of isolation and anxiety when clubbing and going out. Explored through improvised dance and sound layering.
